It might have been a gloriously sunny weekend across most of the country, but now it’s a whole five days before we can spend the day enjoying the weather again. And as we move into summer the desire to move our desks out into the sun is only going to increase. So, in that spirit, each Monday morning we’re going to have a hunt for a news story that will help chase away those beginning-of-the-week blues, and of course, we’re going to share it with you.
This week, we’re charmed by the tale of a pharmacist in North Dakota who prescribed “Anti-monster spray” to a six-year-old girl who was struggling to sleep. The prescribed bottle came complete with an official pharmacy label and clear instructions: “Spray around the room at night before bed, repeat if necessary.”
Apparently this isn’t the first time the kind pharmacy staff have prescribed the spray to children who need that extra bit of bedtime security. The spray’s exact ingredients remain a trade secret, but as it is “100 percent safe” and “really seems to get rid of the monsters” according to Josslyn Dodds, who works in the pharmacy, it seems okay if the recipe stays a mystery!
