So on National Toast Day, here are some ways to make your toast that are sure to provide you with plenty of get-up-and-go for the day ahead, and taste delicious to boot!
With peanut butter and banana
Great if you like to hit the gym before work! Peanut butter packs a real protein punch to give you energy and banana is a fantastic source of potassium.
With scrambled eggs
A classic! Eggs are a good source of protein and contain tons of healthy vitamins. They’re also very good for your heart, and are a great filling breakfast to help you start your day.
Readily available in lots of different flavours, this tasty dip is full of antioxidants and can help lower cholesterol, and it tastes great on toast!
With Greek yoghurt
Greek or Greek-style yoghurt is higher in protein and lower in sugar than regular yoghurt and will give you a great energy boost. Drizzle over some honey for a sweet treat!
As it is, but use wholegrain bread
If you’re currently eating white bread, just trading it for wholegrain bread will make your regular breakfast much healthier. Wholegrain bread is packed full of nutrients that white bread doesn’t have, and there are lots of varieties available, from plain brown bread to loaves full of seeds and grains that your body will love.
